    Hi tw,

    Great piece of sw. Kudos

I’ve recently upgraded my wp7.8 to a lumia 930 with wp8.1 and finally able to use your striver.
Some feedback / issues I encounter:
After uploading/converting to Strava, the plotted line on the HERE map on my phone is replaced by a straight line. Logging into strava or using the android strava app however the detailed map of my efforts is shown correctly except for the thumbnail.
Did I read somewhere that you’re still working on the kudos section? That icon is missing for me, just as the segments and comments icons are missing.

Otherwise works well for, lots better than TripMeter I used previously

    Thanks, Johan

      Hi Johan,

So was the line on the map ok on the recording screen but when you uploaded and viewed you activity via the feed it was a straight line?

Viewing Kudos data is completed. For your own activities you can view the list of Kudos givers but you can only view the total number of Kudos givers for other peoples activities. The icon only appears if there is at least one kudos given.

Giving Kudos via Striver is in the TODO list.

Hey, noticed a bug, when I leave this app open on 8.1 on Nokia Lumia 1020 it keeps the GPS connection open and drains the battery.

      Hi,

Yes, when the Striver app starts it does start GPS monitoring and it will remain monitoring even when Striver is running in the background. Since most people record their rides with Striver running in the background it’s essential for GPS to be running. I take your point though that unless you’re recording or viewing your location on the map it could be feasible that GPS is not required. At any time though you can currently disable GPS in Striver’s settings.

      Thanks,
      Kevin

    Hello TeamWestwood,
First of all, I really love your app! Striver is always my companion when I sit on my bike.
But I have one suggestion for future releases. Please implement the feature, that we can use heart rate sensors over Bluetooth LE, like the polar h7 sensor. Did you have any plans about this?

Please keep up the really good work
    Thanks,
    Christoph

    Hey guys,

    Congratz on this great app.
I´ve used the beta for tracking runs and rides. It mostly works flawlessly. Great job!
One little things you should consider fixing:
You should recheck or remember in app purchase:
I´ve purchased the “upload feature”. But every time I want to upload an activity, the app takes me to the windows phone store again to repurchase the item. Ofcourse one doesn´t have to pay again, but still this is anoing.

    Best
    Till

PS: I´m a Windows Phone Dev myself and as I had no possibility to upload tracks to Strava, I created “Strava uploader” http://wpbeta.me/strava-uploader-beta
However after I found your app, there is no need to work on it any more. But I´m curious: How do you cope with the Strava Api limitations of 600 calls everey 15 minutes?

      Hi Till,

Have you seen this ? it may be what your getting? Unless you’re on the Beta testing program then it does do this after each upgrade.

Striver does not let me follow people back, don’t know if I just can’t work out how or if this is a problem for other people to…

Hi Rachel, you’re correct. You cannot do this in Striver. I’m afraid Strava does not provide this ability via their Application Programming Interface.

Hi Tim, Great App. Just a small problem I had today. Did a run and then tried to upload to strava, but when I uploaded I got a NOT FOUND error. Then I accidentally clicked revoke access to Strava. After re-envoking access the activity was gone. Not sure what happened, but it might be something you could try replicate. My guess is that the revoking/reauthorising process had nothing to do with it, and that it somehow got lost during the upload process.

Hi Andrew, Revoking access to Strava does remove all activities saved on the device including those not yet uploaded. If an upload fails in any way then the activity should be saved locally on the device and is accessible in the Profile\Activities feed. It will have a little red upload icon next to it to indicate that it still needs uploading. You can then view the activity details and attempt the upload again.

Hi thanks for that Tim. Might I suggest then that you make “revoke Access” a menu item instead of a button on the main screen as I pressed it purely by error

Hi guys. Just started using your app in NZ, works well but I can’t find the setting to change measurements from miles to kms and from feet to metres… is there something I’m missing?

When I download my ride from striver to strava if I loose internet connection I loose the whole ride. This has happened several times and I cannot seam to get the rides back as I could before on my android phone.

If I close and reopen striver it just starts a new ride.

    Hi,
I have already purchased your striver for strava app for my windows phone and used it quite a few times. The problem I am now having is it wants me to purchase it again and will not let me upload my activities until I do this!! Please can you sort this out.

      Hi Jay,

      Try this :

1.You have previously purchased a feature but you are prompted to purchase again.
2.You choose to purchase and it takes you to the WP store where you have a ‘buy’ button instead of the ‘You already own this – Install’ button.
      3.Click cancel instead.
      4.Close the Striver app completely.
      5.Start Striver.
6.The feature is now enabled again with a status of ‘Purchased’. You are no longer prompted to purchase.

Get back to me if this does not work.

I got the Nokia Lumia 930 a few months ago and to my dismay only afterwards found out that there’s no Strava app. So disappointing!!! Thank goodness I stumbled across Striver, my ONLY problem with this app is that it says my pacing is in km but the speed is incorrect, it’s in miles. When going into Strava on my PC it will show for example my ave speed 6,36 km/h and on Striver 9,1km/h. I wear a tomtom runner watch and shows the same time as Strava like on my PC. Is there a way to change this?

    Hey Guys,

Generally enjoying the app, but finding it less and less reliable as of late. Not sure if it’s the phone (Lumia 1020, Windows 8.1) or Striver.

It frequently tells me my location services are off, takes me there, button is on and ride fails to record properly. The only fix so far seems to be to reboot the phone. It’s also stopped recording several times (randomly) so the number of manual entries on Strava is increasing dramatically over the last couple of months. I’m getting frequent ‘Email error details’ messages. It also seems to hold previous rides with ‘errors’ in some sort of cache, so it tries to resume these rides even though they’ve been uploaded once I reboot or restart the app.

Anyway, hope this helps. I’ve been auditioning other GPS apps to see if I can find one that’s as reliable as Striver used to feel.

      Hi Quinn,

Thanks for taking the time to report this feedback. It’s valuable whether it’s good or bad. I am always looking at ways to improve the robustness of the recording and uploading features and have some ideas for the next release. I too use the Striver to record my rides and feel the pain if I loose anything.

      Thanks,
      Kevin

    Hi

Love the app, but when I have the audio on, I only get told elapsed time after 30 mins. Then nothing else for the rest of the ride.

    Any ideas?

        Hi again

I still got the problem so I reset the elapsed time to 20 mins. Microsoft Susan now tells me elapsed time after 20 and 40 mins – then nothing! So on 30 mins lapse and 20 mins lapse we can’t get to 60 mins.

        Any ideas?

This app is still giving me problems and to be honest it is nothing like as good as strava which is free to download and use. can you either sort out the problems that I encounter or refund me the app fee.

The last 4 rides I have got back and when i try to save the ride it says I need to purchase the premium feature to download to strava. I have already paid for the app so why does it say that. even if I try to buy again it says I already have it on my phone.

This really is a very poor service and a windows app that was not though out before charging people to use it.

If I had known this before getting my windows phone I wouldn’t have bothered

      Hi Martin,

I’m sorry to here you’re still having problems and I understand the frustration when you loose a recording.

If you wish to seek a refund then you need to contact Microsoft to do this by using the following instructions. App developers do not have a mechanism to refund users directly I’m afraid.

Visit gethelp.live.com, choose the “Billing” category, then click “Contact us” to start a chat with a Microsoft support rep.

As regards being requested to purchase again this is a problem that has been reported before, was resolved by Microsoft, but seems to be occurring again. Here’s a post from the time it happened before :
Striver In-app purchase problem.” I have reported it again to them.

      Kind Regards,
      Kevin

Yes (pending testing). Microsoft Band is a Bluetooth 4 Smart device so heart rate monitoring should work out of the box in theory. They are due to be shipped in the UK next month so I’ll be able to test one then.

Hm, I´m pretty sure, that the band does not expose HR-Data like other Bluetooth devices. I think there is no way around using the Band-sdk for that:
    http://developer.microsoftband.com/
I have a Band and can test it if you want. Currently using Striver Beta 1.10.5.0, but cannot find an option to connect Bluetooth devices. Is this out already?

When the next round of beta testing comes along Striver Beta will contain the Bluetooth 4 Smart compatibility. It will be version v1.11. I’ve not got a date for this yet but hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks or so.

    One thing I’ve recently noticed about Striver –> Strava uploads;

I’ve been skiing recently. Even though I set my activity to Alpine Skiing in Strava, every activity seems to upload to Strava as a ride. I seemed to have been awarded a climbing challenge based on my ski activity. I always upload my activity as private and then unlock it/edit on Strava, so I change my activity from Ride (as uploaded by Striver) to ski (or whatever else it is). Bug?

I really like the Striver updates recently, and I’ll be using the app until my WP dies.

Er…sorry, one mistake there – I set my activity to Alpine skiing in Striver, but it uploads as a Ride to Strava.

    Hello Westwood-Team,

are you aware that since the latest Windows Mobile Build your app keeps crashing? It sometimes displays the splash screen, sometimes the screen just goes black and returns to the Windows home screen.
I have soft-reset the device, I have un- and re-installed the app and more users experience the same issue.
Please fix this as soon as you can, I’m using your app on an almost daily basis (and have opted for the 2 pay-features)

    Thank you,

Hi.ilove this app to track my runs as the upload to strava feature and audio feedback while running is great, but it has recently started crashing on my windows 10 Lumia 950. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it still dies and returns to phone home screen about 5 seconds after starting. I have had to switch to an alternative inferior tracking app in the meantime. My windows phone os build version is 10.0.15063.540. Hope you can help get this resolved.

The striver application stopped working in the past week or so. Using WP10 on lumia 640. App loads and main screen just flashes by and immediately shuts down, crash. No idea why this suddenly happens. Some recent WP update with major side effect?
